Jenny is part of the General Corporate & Business and Mergers & Acquisitions practice groups at FMJ, where she represents companies and investors in entity selection and formation, business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters.

Alayna is an Associate in the Trusts & Estates group at Fafinski Mark & Johnson, where she focuses her practice on estate planning, administration, and probate matters.

Jamie practices in the Litigation group at FMJ, and she focuses in the areas of commercial and employment litigation. Jamie understands that the core of all effective client relationships is trust, which is earned through hard work and open communication.

Cortney works with individuals and businesses in a variety of business, corporate, M&A, nonprofit, and real estate matters. She grew up in a small family business and understands the value of hard work and dedication to achieving a common goal.

Heidi Carpenter is a commercial, business, and mergers and acquisitions attorney, and she is the CEO of FMJ. She advises middle-market companies, business owners, and investors on M&A transactions, corporate governance, and business law matters throughout Minnesota and beyond.

Josh is in the Trusts & Estates Group, and he works with individuals, couples, families, and non-traditional/blended families to help with estate planning, business succession, charitable planning, elder law, estate and trust administration matters, and other long-term planning.

Julia has years of experience as an aviation attorney, and she represents clients in corporate and commercial aviation matters.

Ryan Dreyer is an experienced litigator who handles a variety of commercial, real estate, construction, shareholder, employment, and probate litigation matters. He also advises clients on real estate transactions and construction contracts.

John Ella practices in all aspects of commercial litigation, employment law, and business law, and he has extensive knowledge and experience in all of these areas. John is a prolific writer and a thought leader in these areas, and he is a Qualified Neutral under Minnesota Rule 114.

Bob has been practicing law for over 30 years in the areas of corporate law, corporate finance, aviation, equipment leasing, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and succession planning. Prior to founding Fafinski Mark & Johnson, he served as chair of the Business Law Department and on the management committee of one of Minnesota’s largest law firms.

Rob represents companies and investors in entity selection and formation, corporate governance and succession planning, business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. Rob also works in FMJ’s Real Estate practice group.

Holly Hankins practices in the Trusts & Estates practice group at FMJ. She focuses her practice on trust and estate planning, probate administration, business succession planning, and charitable planning.

Zack Hennen is a litigation attorney. He handles a variety of commercial and business litigation matters, including cases involving real estate, construction, and employment. He also works on a variety of appellate matters.

Natolie provides clients with sophisticated guidance on a range of employment law issues, along with practical advice to navigate the complexities of day-to-day employee relations issues.

Brad focuses his practice on litigation arising out of complex commercial transactions, fiduciary relationships, and business insolvencies. He has represented clients in a wide variety of areas ranging from banking and real estate to aviation, construction, probate and trust, and government agency actions.

Kevin has negotiated aircraft and equipment leases, transfers, foreclosures, and financings worldwide, and he has handled the restructuring of hundreds of aircraft transactions arising out of major airline bankruptcies. He also manages cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions of aviation companies, and other complex aviation transactions.

Sharon is the Chief Financial Officer at FMJ and has been with the firm since its inception in June of 1999. As CFO, Sharon oversees the firm’s financial management. She works with FMJ’s attorneys and administrative professionals directly, and she handles many of the day-to-day financial operations.

Britt Kennedy represents clients in a broad range of commercial and real estate matters, with a particular focus on real estate-related business acquisitions, commercial property matters, and renewable energy projects.

Kristina treats each client relationship with the synergy needed in a partnership. She invests time to learn from and listen to her clients, communicate openly, and proactively and efficiently meet the needs of her clients.

Barrett Knudsen is an aviation attorney. He advises clients on the full lifecycle of aviation assets, including purchase, ownership, leasing, usage, and financing.

Lindsey partners with employers to advise them on all aspects of HR & Employment Law. She regularly assists employers with drafting and revising employee handbooks, employment agreements, and other workplace documents, as well as guiding internal investigations, performance management, and disciplinary actions.

Patricia is a Paralegal in the Litigation Practice Group, and she supports our attorneys in all aspects of the litigation process.

Shannon McDonough is the Chair of FMJ’s Employment and Litigation Practice Groups. Her legal practice is national in scope and includes employment litigation, commercial litigation, and unfair competition. Shannon also provides sophisticated employment and HR advising services.

David Ness is the Chair of FMJ’s Trusts & Estates Practice Group, and he works with individuals and organizations in all aspects of estate planning, charitable planned giving, succession planning, and estate administration.

Jared Peterson brings experience, knowledge, and insight to the full spectrum of legal issues facing businesses today. Born and raised in New Ulm, Minnesota, Jared has been a trusted legal advisor for cooperatives and other agribusinesses throughout his career.

Pat Rooney is a seasoned trial lawyer with more than 30 years of experience representing businesses and business owners in complex commercial litigation matters across the country. A significant portion of his practice focuses on resolving high-stakes, complex disputes between shareholders, partners, and closely held business owners.

David was a law clerk for the Honorable Nancy C. Dreher at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota and the U.S. Bankruptcy Appellate Panel for the Eighth Circuit. While in law school, he was an editor of the Annual Review of Banking Law.

Dan manages operations, technology, and security needs for the firm. He also assists with conflict checks, billing inquiries, and client payments and reconciliation.

Hannah Schacherl Jansen is an attorney in FMJ’s Litigation and Real Estate Practice Groups, where she represents and advises clients on land use, environmental, water, wetland, and real property matters.

As an estate planning attorney, Karen Schlotthauer is driven to deliver an exceptional client experience. She is well-versed in what clients need: high-quality legal representation, creative solutions, and great customer service.

Jim is an accomplished attorney and executive with a diverse background in business strategy and ethics. Jim provides sophisticated advice and business judgment. He works with manufacturing, corporate/business, and sports & entertainment law clients to help navigate a variety of legal needs.

Paul works out of our New Ulm office. He has a diverse practice and a wide range of experience, assisting clients with corporate and business, real estate, and banking matters. Paul also works with nonprofit, manufacturing, transportation, and sports and entertainment clients.

In the area of intellectual property, Pat assists clients with trademark and copyright registration and compliance, trademark and copyright licensing, dispute resolution and pre-dispute counseling, Internet law and domain name issues, and trade secret issues.

Nate represents corporate, business, sports and entertainment, and manufacturing clients, and he helps them identify and navigate any legal issues that may arise, including business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, trademark and copyright, real estate technology, and more.

Anna represents corporate and individual clients in all aspects of commercial litigation, employment litigation, and appeals. She focuses on representing each client efficiently and effectively, and she has obtained successful outcomes for her clients in a number of venues.

Jeanette is the Human Resources and Benefits Manager at FMJ. She brings more than 32 years of experience in the legal industry.
