Representative Transactions
The matters listed below are a sample of the transactions and deals FMJ can handle for clients.
FMJ represented a client in a cross-border deal involving the conversion of five passenger aircraft to freighters, which were then leased onward to a European aviation company. FMJ was involved with the entire deal, valued at more than $100 million. The firm worked across six jurisdictions and managed all of the high demands of passenger to freighter conversions.
FMJ negotiated and coordinated the return off lease of 125 Embraer regional jets from one commuter airline and then the delivery on lease of the same aircraft to another airline. This matter was valued at approximately $200 million.
FMJ represented an asset holding group in the negotiation of an $85 million investment in the company by a leading global private equity firm, including an equity purchase, the acquisition of a new product line with a major aviation manufacturer, and an immediate purchase of aircraft engines from the manufacturer.
FMJ represented a global private investment firm in the sale of four aircraft engines to a leasing company. The matter was valued at more than $8 million, and it involved entities, rules, and regulations in Ireland and Bermuda.
FMJ represented a client throughout 2022 in purchases and consignments of aircraft and engine parts inventories valued in excess of $50 million.
FMJ represented a client in negotiating leases for three De Havilland DHC-400 (Q400) aircraft with a start-up Canadian airline. This complex, cross-border matter involved work in Ireland, the United States, and Canada, and it was valued at more than $36 million.
FMJ represented a global client in the workout and repossession of a Boeing 737-800 aircraft from an Asian air carrier and the subsequent negotiation of a lease of the same aircraft to a start-up airline in the United States. The matter was valued at $20 million and involved the jurisdictions of Ireland, Korea, and the U.S.
