Since our firm opened in 1999, we have worked to support women in the business community, foster relationships among our contacts, mentor co-workers and colleagues, and celebrate the successes of our clients and friends. FMJ Women Uncorked started as a fun wine tasting event, and it has grown into a variety of events and content to help cultivate our passion for supporting and bringing women together. FMJ Women Uncorked provides programming, hosts events and gatherings, and shares content that is written by women for women. Ultimately, we hope to support other women in business, make introductions to women in our business community that you should know, and share a bit about ourselves on a more personal level – because we all are more than what we do professionally.

WOMEN OF FMJ

Heidi Carpenter is an FMJ Women Uncorked co-founder, the firm’s CEO, a commercial attorney leading our Business & Commercial Practice Groups, an FMJ Board Member, and a mother of three daughters. When she is not busy providing counsel to businesses on corporate and employment matters, she enjoys reading, fundraising at her children’s school, serving on various boards, and cheering for Wisconsin sports teams.

Shannon McDonough heads FMJ’s Litigation and HR & Employment Practice Groups, serves as an FMJ Board Member, and is Heidi’s fellow co-founder of FMJ Women Uncorked. While her law practice is national in scope, Shannon was born and raised in the Twin Cities. She is a big Minnesota Twins fan, and she likes to play golf whenever possible. Proud of her Irish heritage, Shannon’s favorite holiday is, of course, St. Patty’s Day.

Natolie Hochhausen is a Shareholder in our HR & Employment practice group.  Outside of work, Natolie is an avid golfer and a “northwoods” adventurer who can be found either on the golf course or on the lake during her free time (in the warmer months).  Natolie also loves to travel, and she is always planning her next trip.

Karen Schlotthauer is an estate planning attorney in our Trusts & Estates group. Karen is a frequent guest speaker/writer on estate planning topics such as divorce, prenuptial agreements, planning for pets, etc. Outside of the office, Karen provides excellent, albeit unsolicited, advice to her two sons.  Karen enjoys skiing and being outdoors, and she is an avid pickleball player (give her a call if you want to play).

Jamie Briones is a Shareholder in the Litigation practice group at FMJ, and her practice focuses in the areas of commercial and employment litigation. Jamie understands that the core of all effective client relationships is trust, which is earned through hard work and open communication. She believes that the more trust that is built in the attorney-client relationship, the greater the chance for success now and in the future.

Kristina Keppeler is an Associate in our General Corporate & Business Practice Groups. She loves backpacking, hiking, and traveling with her husband. Having lived in Europe for thirteen years, she enjoys planning her next trip to visit and reconnect with friends in Switzerland and Romania. In her spare time, Kristina loves cooking, reading historical fiction, and spending time with her two cats, Todd and Copper.

Jenny Anderson is an Associate in our General Corporate & Business and Mergers & Acquisitions Groups. She loves going on day trips and exploring the local area.  Outside of the office, Jenny enjoys the outdoors with her husband, Aaron, and her two rambunctious pups, Millie and Remi.

Holly Hankins is an Associate in the Trusts & Estates Practice Group at FMJ. Holly focuses her practice on estate planning, probate and trust administration, business succession planning, and charitable planning. Holly is a native of Mankato, Minnesota. When she is not at work, Holly enjoys running, reading, and spending time on the lake.

Anna Swiecichowski is an Associate in the Litigation and Appellate Practice Groups at FMJ, representing corporate and individual clients in all aspects of employment law, commercial litigation, and appeals. Anna also enjoys learning new aspects of American and International style ballroom dancing.

Molly Amt is an Associate in the General Corporate & Business Practice Group at FMJ. She is skilled at helping businesses achieve legal compliance while supporting their growth, and she enjoys connecting with clients to identify their needs and attain their goals. Molly received All-American accolades as a member of the track and field and cross-country teams while at Duke. She stays involved in her family’s athletic teams and schools, and Molly is a lifelong runner and advocate for girls in sports.

Cortney Buesgens is an Associate in our General Corporate & Business, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Real Estate Practice Groups at FMJ. Cortney works with business owners and stakeholders to guide them through a wide range of business law matters, including entity selection, organization, contract drafting, real estate issues, and M&A. Outside of the office, Cortney enjoys spending time on the lake, traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with her family, her energetic golden retriever, Penny, and her friendly cat, Bernard.

Morgan Zuehlke is an Associate in the General Corporate & Business Practice Group, focusing on trademarks, sports and entertainment, and business transactions. She spent two decades in digital technology and brand strategy, and she has managed initiatives for prominent artists and record labels and advised some of the world’s largest brands on experience strategy and digital transformation. Outside of the office, Morgan can be found cheering on her sons at soccer or basketball games, enjoying live music, or tackling a New York Times game with unwavering determination.

Julia Stein Dittberner is an Associate in the Aviation & Transportation Practice Group. She has years of experience representing clients in both commercial and corporate aviation matters. She married a pilot and loves to travel the world with her husband and two sons. Julia is also very active in the community and shares her time with a number of organizations. Julia was an All-American tennis player in college. She still plays tennis and stays active with yoga and figure skating. Julia also enjoys weekly mahjong games and reads 100 books every year.

Hannah Schacherl Jansen is an attorney in FMJ’s Litigation and Real Estate Practice Groups, where she advises clients on land use, environmental, water, wetland, and real property matters. Hannah approaches her work with curiosity, integrity, and a genuine commitment to helping clients find practical, effective solutions. Outside of the office, you can find Hannah hiking, kayaking, working on her newest quilting project, or watching women’s basketball – especially the Minnesota Lynx.

Brittany Kennedy is an attorney in FMJ’s Real Estate and Corporate & Business Practice Groups. Britt helps clients to navigate complex real estate and business transactions and contracts, with a particular focus on real estate-related business acquisitions, commercial property matters, and renewable energy projects. She loves getting outdoors to camp, playing games with family and friends (cribbage is a favorite), and catching concerts or pro sporting events whenever possible.

Alayna Bell is an attorney in our Trusts & Estates Practice Group. Alayna assists clients with estate planning, trust and will drafting, administration and probate matters, and more. Alayna has also served as a judicial law clerk, where she worked closely with a judge and developed a strong foundation in legal analysis, research, and procedure. In her free time, Alayna enjoys all things music, from going to live shows with her friends and family to playing the piano at home or listening to her vinyl collection. She also enjoys reading, a good puzzle, and cheering on her son at hockey.

Lindsey Krause is an attorney in our HR & Employment Practice Group. Lindsey partners with employers to advise them on all aspects of workforce management. She values building strong, responsive relationships with her clients and taking the time to understand each client’s business, workforce, and priorities. Away from the office, Lindsey finds joy spending time with friends and family, including her fur babies, and volunteering as a “Big” with Big Brothers Big Sisters. She also loves exploring new restaurants, cheering on Minnesota and Portland sports teams, and planning the next trip.
