Nate Haynor is a Shareholder working primarily in the Aviation & Transportation Practice Group at FMJ. Nate advises and represents private and commercial aviation clients in aircraft and engine sales, a variety of purchases, financing and lease transactions, and aircraft ownership structuring for FAA and tax purposes. Nate also advises and represents aircraft management companies, flight training schools, and parties in airport real estate matters (i.e., hangar transactions).
In addition, Nate represents clients in general corporate and business matters, nonprofit matters, secured transactions, and federal and state tax matters and controversies.
Nate currently serves on the board and as president of the Minnesota Business Aviation Association (MBAA) and previously served as treasurer, vice president and was the golf chair of the 2023 (52nd annual) MBAA Golf Classic.
Prior to joining FMJ, Nate was primarily a tax attorney working for approximately three years at a small tax firm in Stillwater, Minnesota. He worked for nearly six years as a staff attorney with the Minnesota Department of Revenue, where he primarily advised the Minnesota Governor, Commissioner of Revenue, Attorney General, and state legislators on complex sales and use tax and tax collection issues, litigation, and legislation.

Outside of work, Nate enjoys running, cooking, and completing home projects. He also considers himself an aviation enthusiast. He obtained his private pilot license at the age of 18 and has flown on numerous vintage aircraft, including a 1929 Ford Tri-Motor and a 1945 Boeing B-17 “Flying Fortress.” Nate grew up and lived in Minnesota most his life, but he recently moved to Wisconsin where he lives with his wife, her two children, and their two dogs.
