# Heidi Carpenter Named to the Forbes America’s Best-in-State Lawyers List

FMJ is proud to announce that *Forbes *has chosen [Heidi Carpenter](https://www.fmjlaw.com/professional/heidi-a-carpenter/) for the list of America’s Best-In-State Lawyers. This is the first time *Forbes *has created a list of this kind, and it followed a rigorous, multi-stage process of researching, evaluating, and rating thousands of candidates. As *Forbes *stated on its website: “*The resulting collection of top lawyers from across all 50 states spotlights those who can best meet your legal needs, be it litigation, tech, transactional, employment, intellectual property, civil rights, M&A or private equity.*” 

To create their inaugural list of America’s Best-In-State Lawyers, *Forbes *put together a team with experience in law and legal news. This team gathered a large group of possible candidates by conducting hundreds of interviews with legal industry insiders, reviewing independent nominations, doing their own research, and working with a board of legal experts. Lawyers had to be currently licensed and practicing. Ultimately, thousands of lawyers from a variety of fields, backgrounds, and jurisdictions were reviewed.

*Forbes *stated that over the last year, its editorial team *“set out to find lawyers with premium skill sets from across the United States, reviewing thousands of candidates for [Forbes’ inaugural Best-In-State list](https://www.forbes.com/lists/best-in-state-lawyers/). Vetted through outside nominations, independent research and consultation with experts and industry insiders, we’ve curated an **elite **cohort of lawyers from all 50 states, across a variety of specializations.”* Congratulations again to Heidi for being selected as one of just eight Minnesota attorneys on this list.
