# FMJ Selected as One of the Best Women-Led Firms in Minnesota

FMJ has been selected for the second consecutive year for Minnesota Lawyer’s list of the best women-led law firms in the state. There are just 22 firms on the list for 2025. In selecting this list, Minnesota Lawyer’s editorial team asked readers for recommendations, reviewed prior news coverage and awards honorees, and researched other publicly available information about women-led law firms. To be eligible, a firm’s local office must be led by a woman and have demonstrated legal success and efforts to empower other women in and outside of the firm.

Minnesota Lawyer cited the great legal work at FMJ, and they highlighted the leadership from [Heidi Carpenter](https://www.fmjlaw.com/professional/heidi-a-carpenter/) (CEO, Shareholder, and Leader of the Corporate & Business Practice Groups), [Shannon McDonough](https://www.fmjlaw.com/professional/shannon-m-mcdonough/) (Shareholder and Leader of the Litigation and HR & Employment Practice Groups), and [Sharon Johnson](https://www.fmjlaw.com/professional/sharon-k-johnson/) (COO). They also noted our FMJ Women Uncorked Program, which has grown from a small wine tasting event to a network of more than 1,000 women in business and the professions.
