The conference will explore various issues affecting agribusiness today, including drone use, business combination options, equity management, employment law changes, credit issues, and internal controls for your organization. The day will conclude with a tour of the historic [Schell’s Brewery](http://schellsbrewery.com/) in New Ulm.

**Conference Schedule:**  

8:30 – 9:00 am Registration and breakfast

9:00 am **Session 1 – Drones (presented by FMJ)**  

This session will explain the new regulations issued this fall that relate to using drones in agriculture, and how drones are being used in agriculture today.

9:45 am **Session 2 – Business Combination Options (presented by FMJ)**  

Mergers, consolidations, joint ventures, LLCs – this session will explain the different types of business combinations available for agribusinesses, and the pros and cons of the different options.

10:45 am **Session 3 – Equity Management (presented by Carlson Highland)**  

This session will explore recent issues relating to equity including: How much funding should go into the capital reserve? How should  your equity retirement be structured, and what are the different options? When should you use qualified of non-qualified allocations?

12:15 pm Lunch

1:00 pm **Session 4 – Employment Law Update (presented by FMJ) **  

This session will provide an update on recent employment law changes that are most applicable to agribusinesses.

1:30 pm **Session 5 – Credit Issues (presented by FMJ)**  

With recent low crop prices, the issue of credit has arguably never been more important. This session will highlight what agribusinesses should be doing to protect themselves from delinquent accounts and recent developments in credit/collections.

2:15 pm Session 6 – **Internal Controls for Your Organization (presented by Carlson Highland) **

This session will explain what internal checks and balances you should have within your organization, including how and why to segregate duties, audit committees, and other measures to protect your organization
