In his latest Star Tribune article, “Court Victory is a Boost for Aviation Safety,” FMJ shareholder Donald Chance Mark, Jr. discusses our recent win at the United States Supreme Court with the case Air Wisconsin Airlines Corp. v. Hoeper. In a unanimous ruling, the High Court gave airlines and their employees broad immunity when reporting suspected threats against air travel.

“Traveling business people and the general flying public should now have more assurance that their flights are safe from security risks. In January, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that airlines have broad immunity under the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA), a post-9/11 security law created to assess and manage threats against air travel.”
